JAMES CADD


In the 1911 census, James was 12 years old, living with his parentsHenry James and Mary Cadd, at 28, The Terrace, East Haddon, along with his 2 younger brothers and 2 sisters.


Therefore he was born in 1899, and was only 15 when war broke out.


He was conscripted as a private into the Machine Gun Corps, which had been formed in 1915 (it was the predecessor to the Tank Regiment).


He died on 29th July, 1918, age 19, and lies buried in the Raperie British Cemetery, Villemontoire, east of Reims.


This cemetery contains 612 burials, all men from the UK.
